Friday, September 4: We stayed in the campground most of the morning because Jim decided to replace the brake fluid in the camper, hoping to avoid a repeat of the break overheating on our way here. I helped with the break pumping part and he got the  job of crawling under the camper and opening and closing the break valves. Once that was done we moved to a new campsite (I could not get 3 nights on one site when I made the reservations). The new site is a better one, on the end by a creek and the spot next to us is empty so it was a good move.

I packed a lunch and we headed out just before noon.

We took the Tioga Road drive for most of the afternoon. We went as far as Yosemite Creek and then drove back. Along the way we took many turn outs for mountain views, beautiful tall cedar tree groves and a small lake called Siesta Lake.

Yosemite Creek was almost completely dry - I guess that would explain why there is no water going over the Yosemite Falls!

We returned to the campground with a few photo stops ...

and then took a hike of about 2-1/2 miles from there to Mirror Lake

I had read so much about the great photo opportunities at Mirror Lake with the mountains surrounding it reflecting in the lake. However we found out once we got there that there would be no reflection photos today. Not a drop of water remains in Mirror Lake! Thus the photo of me walking in the “lake.” The hike was through some beautiful scenery so we did get some nice photos however we were very tired by the time we returned for a late supper.
