Friday, August 14: We had most things packed up and ready the night before so we could get an early start Friday morning. We drove down to East Glacier, returned the rental car and caught a quick cup of coffee at the cafe’ there before driving 20 West along the south side of the park. We made a stop in West Glacier and bid farewell to Glacier National Park. I am so thankful we had this privilege of returning to this wonderful national park, truly an awesome display our Creator God’s handiwork.
We stopped in Somers. MT for lunch at a beautiful spot along Flathead Lake.
Just before 3:30 we crossed into the State of Idaho, a first for me. We were greeted with road construction which made the steep descents more challenging than usual. I was definitely glad I was not at the wheel!
It took about an hour to cross through Idaho, including a Walmart stop just one mile from the Washington border.
We stayed at the Peaceful Pines RV Park in Cheney, WA. Our stay there ended up costing us nothing because Jim was able to help the park owner with some water system problems so he returned our camping fee as a thank you.
