On the drive there and back we had several encounters with the free range cattle that think the road was put there for them.
Then we drove back north about 4 miles to the turn off to the Two Medicine area. We had our lunch in the picnic area … one the most scenic picnic spots we have ever had right on Two Medicine Lake. The lake was impossible to resist so off came the shoes and my feet were soon cooled off in the water.
Next we drove up to the Many Glacier/Swiftcurrent area to see if we could connect with Ron and Linda Overbeek. On the way we saw a small bear not far from the roadside up in a tree. The bear was mostly hidden by the tree leaves but we could see parts of him, see the tree branches swaying as he pulled on the leaves and hear him chomping. Up the road a bit we clearly see another bear crossing the incline below the mountain.
We didn’t know which cabin Ron and Linda were staying in at Swiftcurrent so we asked at the desk and they told us they had checked in and which loop of cabins there were in. We drove through the cabin area and didn’t see any sign of them. We decided to get supper at the restaurant there and after eating we walked back over by the cabins. Sure enough the Overbeeks had just returned and we found them at the first cabin of the loop. We made plans to meet them for breakfast in the morning.
On the drive back out of the Many Glacier area we saw a moose and calf along the lake shore. The light was fading fast so we could not get a real clear shot but still wonderful to watch them.
The next animal that looked like it could be another moose on the far shore of the lake turned out to be a cow.
I remember roaring eagle falls! I think you stopped to take pics and video of that then too ;-)
